Features report on FireFox 3.5b4

Hello again,
I have been doing more testing on FireFox 3.5 beta 4.

Just surfing around, the speed increase is noticeable, but not drastic. That is until you add the standard FireFox browser tweaks.

Once the tweaks have been added, the browser really flies. A website that once loaded fairly slowly will now flicker slightly and then be fully loaded.

So, the speed is probably the most noticeable feature, but there are several others hidden in menus.

For one, under the Tools menu is the Start Private Browsing feature.

This is basically a clone of the feature in Chrome and Safari, but it was still a needed addition.

While using Private Browsing, no history, cookies, form data, or cache will be stored after it is finished.

This is a very nice feature that has been on my wish list, personally.

In the preferences dialog, the privacy options have been rebuilt to give more options. I would recommend checking it out.

FF3.5 also has support for local storage, which is a nice feature, but I have yet to start exploring its security, so I can not comment on its level of safety at this time.

Finally, FF3.5 supports some HTML 5.0 elements, like the video and audio elements. These will allow developers to embed videos and audio without plug ins like flash or quicktime.

I will provide more details as I get them.
