About Me

My name is Phillip Long, I was born in Illinois to a Doctor and a Social Worker, then moved to Colorado when I was very young. I moved around for a while before settling near Denver, where I currently reside.
I started my web security career in High School on the wrong side of the law. I hacked my school website, among other things, numerous times. This is where I developed a strong base in Web Security. I became famous (or infamous) but anonymous among the students and staff. Everyone knew that I was good with computers, as I helped many students and teachers with issues ranging from a simple defrag, to more complicated issues like computer security, etc.

One day, a teacher pulled me from the hallway, and closed the door to his office. He told me about a problem where he could not get around the school web filtering, which was blocking rivaling academic websites, preventing him from accessing needed educational information. He asked me if there was anything I could do to fix it. The next day, I launched HumanBagel.co.nr
This is a web based proxy, that I controlled. It enabled the teachers to bypass the filtering for educational purposes. Since then, the usage among the teachers exploded. I found over half of the teachers and staff using the site.
I was officially hooked on doing the right thing. I have since spent my career fixing Web Security issues, and in general protecting my fellow man.

I mostly work with/program in (X)HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, SQL, XML, AJAX, JSON, XSL, UNIX, Linux, and DOS but I do have a familiarity with many others, and security refrences in any language needed. So there is no issue with testing or correcting issues with any other language or setup.
